Use the ThinkPad Pro docking station (sold separately), a side-mounted mechanical USB Type-C docking station that easily connects to two male Type-C docking ports and automatically levels your device. Once docked, your ThinkPad is locked and connected to all of your peripherals, includingbe shared with your other newer ThinkPads.

The T490 offers an FHD panel with PrivacyGuard, a unique technology that reduces the field of view of information displayed on the screen from all angles except the front. ThinkShutter, a physical cover that ensures the camera is only on when you want it, is now available on all camera options. You can also add an optional IR (infrared) camera and an optional touch fingerprint reader for biometric login.
